Personal Profile
Shiatsu has always been a major part of my every day life. Ever since I can remember when being ill, in pain or discomfort, I somehow intuitively knew that pressing on different areas on my body can instantly bring on comfort and pain relief. Even though I had no Shiatsu, Chinese or Oriental medicine knowledge I somehow knew how to use their essences and benefits to increase my well being.
My journey to learning Shiatsu led me first through qualifying in different body holistic therapies such as Swedish massage, Aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage, Hot Stones massage and Hopi ear candles. But having experienced first hand the benefits of pressing different body parts and points to maintain good health, I soon enrolled into the Shiatsu degree course. I am very proud to have graduated from the University of Derby with a first class BA (Hons) in Shiatsu therapy.
Throughout my Shiatsu practice I have developed a particular interest in the fields of psychological and emotional problems and chronic diseases. This particular interest led me to the palliative care where through the Shiatsu therapy I can contribute to adding life to people’s days and to promote better mental, psychological, spiritual and physical well being.
Being a keen proponent of continual personal and professional development I regularly attend courses and workshops to support my professional growth. Having worked with complex health issues and diseases I truly believe in combining various holistic techniques and skills to best address and alleviate different health problems. To transform my Shiatsu practice and care for clients my journey of professional development will continue with courses in Oriental Herbal Medicine and Healing-Shiatsu touch through which I hope to better understand and deal with the origins of disease.
